  18.   Some words about Armenian. There are 38 letters in modern Armenian and,
  19. therefore, I am compel to designate some of Armenian letters by combination
  20. of two Roman letters or use some other characters. Whenever you see a 
  21. sequence in brackets ([ts], [rr], etc.), you should interpret it as a
  22. single letter. Besides that, there are only two one-letter words in Armenian
  23. ("e" - "is" and "i" - "in, to" in English), but the last word ("i") used in
  24. modern Armenian very seldom (in some expressions only). The 4-th word 
  25. ("u" - "and" in English) really consists of two letters ("[wo]" and "w"), but
  26. in Eastern Armenian it is regarded as one letter.
  27.   At the end I would like describe some phonetics (it be useful, I think).

  44. h  -  as "h" in "home"
  45. dz -  as "dzeta" in Greece
  46. x  -  as "r" in France

  49. j  -  as "y" in "you" or "yes"
  50. n  -  as "n" in "no"
  51. sh -  as "sh" in "show"
  52. wo -  as a conjuction of "w" and "o" at the beginning of word, and
  53.       as a single "o" in the middle and the end.
  54. ch -  as "ch" in "teacher"
  55. p  -  as "pi" in Greece
  56. dj -  as "J" in "John" or "Jack"
  57. rr -  very strong "r"
  58. s  -  as "s" in "sweet"
  59. v  -  as "v" in "very"
  60. t  -  as "tau" in Greece
  61. r  -  as "r" in "bring"
  62. c  -  as first "c" in "circus" in Latin
  63. w  -  as "w" in English. This letter in modern Armenian can be found in
  64.       conjuction of other ones only.
  65. ph -  as "p" in "map"
  66. q  -  as "q" in "queen"
  67. o  -  as "o" in "of"
  68. f  -  as "f" in "force"
